Your privacy is important to FaxSIPit, Inc. (“FaxSIPit,” “we,” “us”). This Online Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes what information we collect, how we collect it, and how it is used, disclosed, transferred and safeguarded. It also describes your choices regarding use, access and correction of your personal information.This Privacy Policy applies to the information we collect through our website (“Site”) and our FaxSIPit Customer Portal (“Customer Portal”). The use of information collected through our Customer Portal shall be limited to the purpose of providing the service for which the Client has engaged FaxSIPit.If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy you may contact us as indicated in the “Contacting FaxSIPit” section below.

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically. This information may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site.

Tracking technologies

FaxSIPit and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the website, track users’ movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, but if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain features or functions on our Site or services.

FaxSIPit’s Customer Portal collects information under the direction of its customers, and FaxSIPit has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. If you do business with one of our customers that use our service, and would like to no longer be contacted by them please engage with them directly. As described more fully below, we may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the service agreements with our customers.

We may use the information described above to:
  • Send promotional materials or other marketing communications;
  • Send you an order confirmation;
  • Assess the needs of your business to determine suitable products;
  • Send you requested product or service information;
  • Respond to customer service requests;
  • Administer your account;
  • Respond to your questions and concerns;

We will retain personal data we process on behalf of our customers for as long as needed to provide services to our customers. FaxSIPit will retain this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

At FaxSIPit we consider the content of a document sent via fax to be confidential. Please be advised that all faxes are encrypted during transit. We employ no mechanisms, automatic or otherwise, to scan the contents of your faxes. We are, therefore, not aware of what data or information is being faxed.

We may share your information with third-party business partners, for instance, for the purpose of enhancing our products and services or so that they can market their products or services to you. Sharing with service providers

We may share your information with third parties who provide services on our behalf to help with our business activities. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us. These services may include sending marketing communications or providing customer service.

Legal Notice

In certain situations, FaxSIPit may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet law enforcement requirements.

We may also disclose personal information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

If FaxSIPit is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets that affects this Privacy Policy, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website, of any change in ownership, uses of your personal information, and choices you may have regarding your personal information.

We may also disclose your personal information to any other third party with your prior consent.

Sharing with service providers

With respect to FaxSIPit’s provision of telecommunications-related services for our customers, FaxSIPit is regulated by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission  (CRTC). In providing these telecommunications-related services for our customers, which may include transmitting and routing fax and voice calls and messages transmitted by third parties, FaxSIPit protects the privacy and confidentiality of all customer proprietary network information (“CPNI”), as required by law.

Do Not Track

Our services and Site do respond to your browser’s “do-not-track” signals or comparable mechanisms.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received. We have implemented administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information you provide on the Site against accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access or misuse.

Despite these precautions, no system can be completely secure and there remains a risk that unauthorized access or use, hardware or software failure, human error, or a number of other factors may compromise the security of your information. We may retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Access

Upon request, FaxSIPit will provide you with information about whether, as a data controller, we hold any of your personal information. You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information by logging in to your account or by contacting us at: privacypolicy@FaxSIPit.com

We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

FaxSIPit acknowledges that you have the right to access your personal information. FaxSIPit has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to our customer (the data controller). If you request that we remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Choice

Social Media. Our Site includes social media features and widgets, such as the Twitter, LinkedIn or Instagram buttons that run on our Site. These features and widgets may collect your IP address, which webpage you are visiting on our website, and may set cookies to enable the feature and widget to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

Email Preferences. You may sign-up to receive newsletters or other communications from us. If you would like to discontinue receiving this information, you may update your email preferences by using the “Unsubscribe” link found in emails we send to you or by contacting us at privacypolicy@FaxSIPit.com.
